Frequently Asked Questions...
How much will it cost me to have my recordings transcribed?
That depends on your unique needs. The price for standard, basic transcriptions is $1.10 per recorded minute. That means if your recording is 60 minutes, the basic cost for having it transcribed will be about $66. If you need verbatim (leaving in all the "uh" and "ah" sounds, etc.), you should add 25 cents per recorded minute, or about $15 extra for a 60 minute recording. The price will be higher if you need a rush transcription or have more than 2 people talking on the recording. Click here for more pricing information. Can I track the progress of my project? Yes! Do you guarantee the accuracy of the transcriptions? Yes! If you believe the transcription is not 98% accurate, we will update the transcriptions for you at no charge. In what format are my transcriptions returned? The standard format for returning transcriptions is Microsoft Word (.docx). If you would prefer we send them back in another format (such as .pdf or .rtf), please let us know and we will accommodate your request if possible. Are my recordings and transcriptions secure? All of your recordings are stored in a private folder on our Dropbox account, which is secured and encrypted by them. Once uploaded, we password protect your documents. The only people that have access to your recordings are the management and the transcriptionist who is transcribing your recordings. Do you only do academic transcriptions? While we train each of our transcriptionists to understand the unique issues with transcribing academic recordings, we transcribe all sorts of recordings, including seminars, sermons, meetings, speakers, wedding toasts, videos, and anything else you need to translate from recorded media to text. I can't find a link to upload my recordings. Where do I find it? Once you've requested a quote, we will send you a secure link so you can upload your recordings directly to us. You will also receive log in information for our website where you can track the progress of your project and upload additional recordings if you have them. Most people choose Standard transcriptions because they tend to be easier to read and code. Standard transcriptions essentially take out the superfluous words and filler sounds to create a smooth, easy-to-read document. To learn more about Standard vs Verbatim, click here. |
